FATW3 week 7 - Te Puna Aio
I was very excited to make this week's square. It was designed by a fellow Kiwi (Patrina Hollis) who is a member of several crochet groups with me. I got a sneak peek of her design quite early on in the process and had a chance to try it out before it was officially tested and really enjoyed it so I was happy to have the chance to make it again. I wasn't sure which colour(s) I wanted to use and in the end opted for plain white. I suspect that I will be making at least one white square for each of my small blankets.
Anyway, without further ado, here's my version of Patrina's square Te Puna Aio with the extra 3 rounds added on (unblocked):

Don't forget to add the extra 3 rounds if you are planning on following the CAL: https://calcrochetalong.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/base-rounds-for-joining-claire-sutcliffe-fatw3.pdf
I thought I should also do a round up of the squares that I've made to date. As you can see in the photo below, there are 3 squares with noughts and crosses. That is because there will be 3 smaller blankets. Each of my kids will have a blanket with their favourite colour as a feature: red, blue, and green. As you can see below, there are currently lots with blue as a feature and not many with red. I suspect the next few weeks might need to have some red in them to make up for things or one kid might have a much smaller blanket than the other two.
Based on just the colours, the 3 blankets so far are shaping up as follows:
Blue blanket
Green blanket
Red blanket
