About me
Kia Ora from Aotearoa (land of the long white cloud - aka New Zealand). My name is Nessie and this is a collection of my notions (crochet pattern ideas, blog posts and lists of things used in my patterns).
I first taught myself to crochet in when one of my children was a baby using YouTube and photo tutorials. I started making my own designs the following year. Early inspiration came from requests from my children - I had crocheted a large road mat blanket and made some small cars to go with it. However, my children were requesting other types of vehicles and there weren’t many patterns out there small enough to fit the road mat blanket, so I made my own. That was soon followed by diggers, dump trucks, concrete mixers and road rollers. I haven’t looked back since.
I am inspired by a range of different people. My grandmothers knitted and crocheted many things while I was growing up and my mum is a very talented sewer. I got to experience their wonderful creations and still have some in my possession that are treasured by my family. I also draw inspiration from many different designers who share their designs freely on the internet for all of us to enjoy.
